A lesson in personal growth from the family rabbit.
We have got 3 pet Rabbits who are all very special to us, Dusty (dad), Loopy and Lulu (the kids) and as the weather here in the UK is pretty good at the moment we like them to play outside as much as possible so we built them a run in the garden.
Nothing flashy, just 4 posts in the ground and some chicken wire around them to stop escapes, but they love it and it keeps them safe.
Now, ordinarily all 3 are happy to play and run around and eat the dandelions and clover and to lie in the sun. However, just the other day Dusty decided that he wanted to explore and go beyond the boundaries he knew and felt comfortable in so he did what Rabbits do well he, dug his way under the wire and got out into the bushes.
Obviously, a family panic ensued once we noticed he was missing and an immediate hunt began (the usual drama of tears) . It did not take us long to find him though because within just a few minutes he was back at the wire and he was trying his best to get back into the run. The problem that this created was that he then got his head stuck in the wire and of course created another different trauma. These are the sort of stories that make family memories
…
But, the point I am making with this story is that Dusty did exactly what we as people do when we venture out of our comfort zone, he felt uncomfortable
……………and he wanted back in sharpish.
Although this comfort zone may not be absolutely perfect we feel safe within it. It provides us with boundaries that we are familiar with and when we go beyond these it creates feelings that can range from slight unease right through to sheer terror.
How we deal with these feeling is what differentiates those who grow from those who stagnate. Those who stay with those feelings and work through them are the ones who evolve and move forwards in their lives to bigger and better.
As beings we all need to feel safe and protected but and this is a huge but…..our potential for growth is far greater when we put ourselves into that discomfort zone of being out o
f the comfort range.
By making ourselves feel uncomfortable we learn so much more about ourselves as we struggle to find a new level of comfort and when we get there we find the journey there changed us. Dusty did not understand this being a bunny, but we as humans have the capacity to understand this.
So, if you are wanting to change your life and move yourself out of your current zone you have to make that move and take action.
You have to have persistence, faith and the will to succeed no matter what. Providing you have these you will have the strength to move yourself through those 'different' feelings to move yourself onwards and upwards to bigger and better every time.
Make a start right now and start by leaving me some comments to tell me about your experiences and input your name and email into the form on the sidebar to learn how you can change your life forever by learning how to strike out on your own and become your own boss…..

A lot of people are bunnys and I do not mean the cute Playboy type.
It takes a lot to leave the run, and a lot of people do not realise they do have what it takes. They just need to take the first step and realise their potential.
Well , when itt comes to animals,im the biggest push over in the world, I grew up,allways with a German Shepard, and Had to have My best friend put down 4 years ago know, and Bandit, was 3/4 Human, Never did i have a shepard that smart, all of my Police Buddys told me where to go in maine, about a 8 hr drive, and i signed more papers, and the interviev was longer than getting into CCPro!!!!!!!! Wow,they didnt care about your money, But i had Rabbits growing up,and used to do the same,, could not belive they would not take off,and the german Shepard watched them like a hawk!!!!! ,,So,I can relate when one gets out,, especially when you a kid,,but my parents also were nervous, but didnt show it, i guess,so i would not get more nervous!!
If,every one is wondering why i dont have a new Pup,i got bandit at 8 weeks old,and had him for 16 years,,thats why they ship, all over the usa!!!!!!! 42 acres of German shepards, and now they raise the Maine Coon cats,, there 1200 bucks for a cat!!!!!,, but 2000 is the cheapest for a GS,,But you get what you pay for,!!! OH,The reason, the new home owners ins,!! first question,do you own a dog?????? and there are 5 on the "HIT LIST" German Shepards are #1 for dog bites,, By dog stayed in where it was cool, with the ac on, Neidless to say,he had ir made!!!,better than me!!,, So,instead of Paying 4000 dollars a year for home owners,it would be (Sitting down) wish they told me to!!!!!,,hows 12,700 dollars a year, because of the dog,,the way i look at it,if im going to rob my house, and I have 2 atrium doors, and i see those German Shepard teeth, Im going to another House,,But as the ins co said, not all people treat there animals like you treat yours!!!!!!!!!!
Next chapter will be on the 2 cats, that ive never ownwed a cat in my life, have 1 left, had to have my big old calico,of 16 years put down, and she had to be 5 to 7 when they dumped her on my door step at the old shop which i sold!!!!!!!!!! and there 1 more,, he was 3 weeks ol,bottle fed him,and Jelly donuts!!!!!!,,"The cat from Hell" He still looks for Bandit everyday,as they became inseprable!!,,
So,I also have a animal kingdom to rite about,, still a chapter on quarter horses, everthing but snakes, they get the 357 with the rat shot,or the Home nade snake chopper!!!!!!!!! Jack,,
You've nailed this one on the head. It is time for people to step out of those comfort zones! It is the only way to get ahead.
Brigitte, this story reminds me of a family outing when we could'nt take our dog with us like we normally do. So, he dug his way out under the fence, but instead of crawling his way back under the fence he sat at the front chewing the timber around the door until we returned. Such determination to get back in!!
I guess he was as keen as Dusty to get back to where he felt more comfortable with his family.
This is a great point you make here! Fear is the one thing that stops so many from going all the way to the top …. stepping out of your comfort zone is the 1st step!!
Sandy
