Have Faith & Persistence & Success Will Come

Like many others who have a home business there are times when I need to be reminded of the natural order of things. Success is ours for the taking providing we observe the universal laws that allow it to happen.

Springtime is here again, so a few weeks ago I began to prepare my garden for another year of producing flowers, fruits and vegetables. I love to do this and spend many happy hours just being outdoors observing nature & the laws of the natural world.
These universal laws are true not only for the natural world outdoors but also for us as people in our somewhat ‘unnatural’ lives if we would just take the time to observe them & respect them.

Back in January I bought a new Raspberry cane (my favourite fruit) and as the weather at that time was very wet and cold I did not get to plant this until several weeks later. During this time it had been outdoors in the packaging it was bought in, a plastic bag tied around the roots. By the time I got around to planting it into soil it was just like a dried out old twig not looking too healthy at all. However, I planted it, watered it and apologised profusely to it for having neglected it so badly.
My existing Raspberry canes were sprouting and growing at a great rate of knots but alas the newbie just stood in the ground as a ‘dead’ twig for weeks and weeks. I was really at the point of giving up on it and pulling it up as dead but decided to leave it just a wee bit longer as I had other things to do that day. So I left it and 2 more weeks went by and I decided to finally make some space and get it out and plant something else in its place. But, when I got to the ‘dead’ cane -surprise!! There were green healthy shoots sprouting proudly from it.

All I had needed to do was wait patiently for nature to do its job my ‘man made’ and impatient definition of time had to be suspended as nature worked at its own pace. I had given the cane the conditions it needed to be able to thrive and grow and it needed time to gather its energy and resources to do what it needed to do. The shoots are healthy and strong and the plant will be good. I needed to show more faith in the natural laws and be more patient and persistent in my waiting for something to happen. I would have given up far too quickly, yet by waiting just that little it longer the success I needed came.

Another observation I had was with the beautiful colourful flowers that are now opening. They are attractive, colourful and some really fragrant. They need to distribute their pollen to other flowers and need help with this. Enter the Bees who very obligingly do all that is required quite by chance as they first get what they need from these beautiful flowers. This is true ‘attraction marketing’ happening naturally. The flowers are offering something to the bees that is exactly what they want/need and of great value to them. The bees come along and do something in return for the flowers which is what the flowers wanted doing in the first place. The flowers do not first make a pitch to the Bees to distribute the pollen they just make themselves attractive to the Bees. A win win situation where all get something of value from the transaction.

There is much we can learn by just sitting and observing nature, yet how often do we do this. We are all too busy doing things that may seem important yet they often are not and we miss what is happening around us which can be very important lessons that we can all learn from. We hurry around expecting things to happen yesterday instead of waiting patiently for things to happen naturally. We give up far too easily and far too soon often just as the success we crave is just around the corner. We also get so impatient waiting for this fast result that we do not notice what is happening along the way – we are wanting the journey to be over so quickly that we forget to admire the view along the way.

So next time things do not seem to be happening as you would have expected just sit back for a while and observe what is happening around you. Take stock of the wider picture and exercise some faith and persistence and let nature take its course. Nature is truly abundant and provides us with the means to succeed and providing we observe the universal natural laws we will.
